New Angle Media Sponsors the 2006 Avnet Tech Games

New Angle Media has been selected to be a judge sponsor of the first ever Avnet Tech Games. New Angle will provide a panel of judges for two of eight games scheduled for March 3, 2006: E-Commerce Web Site and Multimedia Presentation.

About the Avnet Tech Games: The Olympics provide the world with a lot of excitement, but many Phoenix companies and college students are focused on a competition closer to home – the Avnet Tech Games.

An Olympics-style academic competition scheduled for March 3, 2006 at Mesa Community College, the Avnet Tech Games will provide Maricopa Community College District students with an opportunity to showcase their talents – and receive greatly needed scholarships. At the same time, Phoenix companies will get a look at tomorrow’s leaders and some fresh perspective on product design and marketing. Eight different events will test their technical skills and creativity:

• Lego Robots in a Maze
• Design and Build a Digital Device
• E-Commerce Web Site
• Defense in Depth
• Arizona Business Accelerator- Invent a Technical Product
• Multimedia Presentation
• AMD- Build the Fastest Computer
• Build the Most Innovative Computer

These events – each with a different sponsor – will help students gain real-world experience in technology, decision making and group dynamics, preparing them for today’s competitive job market.
