Account Manager Honored by National American Diabetes Association

New Angle Media Account Manager Bruce Cuddy was honored with the 2007 Outstanding Leadership Award by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). He is one of three recipients nationwide.

Cuddy, chair of the Valley of the Sun Leadership Council, has volunteered for the ADA since 1987. He has fulfilled numerous roles for the non-profit organization in Arizona and California, which include fund-raising efforts and event coordination.

“"Bruce was recognized for his innovation, tireless enthusiasm, commitment and passion for the past 20 years," said Lori Stevens, senior executive director, American Diabetes Association. “We are extremely proud to have him represent the Phoenix chapter."

In the Valley, Cuddy has chaired the annual America’s Walk for Diabetes, one of the region’s largest ADA events, in addition to participating in the Father’s Day Council and Tour de Cure. As the current chair of the Leadership Council, Cuddy has created an organizational structure and plan designed to increase volunteer participation and involvement.

Cuddy, a Peoria resident, accepted the ADA’s highest honor at an awards ceremony during the ADA’s Community Volunteer Leadership Conference in St. Louis on Nov. 17. About 100 leadership councils nationwide were represented at the event. (Photograph Attached.)

“I’ve been actively involved in the ADA since my daughter was diagnosed with diabetes at age 6,” said Cuddy. “I’ve experienced the hardships that accompany the disease, and I want to do everything I can to fight it. This award signifies my commitment to supporting the ADA’s mission of preventing and finding a cure for diabetes.”

Cuddy has 30 years of sales and marketing management experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Sacramento State University.
