New Angle Participates as Key Sponsor for Second Year in the Avnet Tech Games

Phoenix, Arizona, March 02, 2007 - New Angle Media participated as a judge sponsor for the second year in a row during the Avnet Tech Games. New Angle Media provided a panel of judges for one of Seven games scheduled March 2, 2007.
About the Avnet Tech Games: “One of our goals in inventing the Avnet Tech Games was to create an opportunity for students to demonstrate decision making and creative skills,” said Avnet Chairman and CEO Roy Vallee. “This year’s winners exceeded our expectations in terms of their enthusiasm and professionalism. Thank you to all who participated, and congratulations to our winners.”
Winners will each receive $1,000 scholarships. For the second year in a row, Avnet has partnered with Maricopa Community Colleges, the largest community college system in the United States with more than 280,000 students, to host the Avnet Tech Games. A multidisciplinary event, the Avnet Tech Games enable students to gain real-world experience in technology, decision making and group dynamics, helping to prepare them for today’s competitive job market.
Sponsors for the Avnet Tech Games include Accenture, AMD, AT&T, EMC, Fujitsu, Humana, Microsoft, MATEC (Maricopa Advanced Technology Education Center), New Angle Media, Protivit, Spark Design and STMicroelectronics.
Seven different events will test their technical skills and creativity:
- AMD Build the Fastest Computer
- Microsoft Defense in Depth
- Design and Build a Digital Device
- Accenture Build an E-Business Website
- Multimedia
- Robot Maze Navigation
- EMC Technology Trends
These events – each with a different sponsor – will help students gain real-world experience in technology, decision making and group dynamics, preparing them for today’s competitive job market.
